Symptoms of a failing Rear Stabilizer Bar Links
Reduced handling
Poor handling is one of those things that you should always notice. If you drive your car almost every day, you’ve probably started to notice how it feels…and when it feels different.
If your car’s rear stabilizer bar links are calling it quits, then the bar will be able to move back and forth more than in should. The entire purpose of the stabilizer bar is that it doesn’t move, which stabilizes the car. If it isn’t able to do that, then it will be reflected in the handling of the car.
Noises
While we’re on the subject, try listening to your car.
If your car’s front stabilizer bar links are wearing out, they’ll start to talk, by making one of two noises: Either a knocking noise, or a popping noise. Maybe even both if you’re really lucky.
Both of these noises will be heard primarily during times that your car uses the stabilizer bar, such as when making sharp turns, or when driving over bumps in the road.
